How do I save pages to disk for backups?

 

Use the Export feature. With all spreads closed go to the File Menu and select Export Pages. Then use the Browse button to select the place (disk drive or folder on desktop) where you wish to save the exported files. Highlight the spread, or use the Select All button for all spreads, and click the Export button. The spreads will now be saved to the selected place.

 

 

How do I insert clip art?

 

Using the select arrow, tag the picture or text area that you are converting and go to the Object Menu, choose Convert to Image. Tempo Clip Art should be the default. From the Menu on the right, chose the art work needed and then click OK. The art will now be added to the tagged area on the page.

 

 

How do I add text to clip art?

 

With art in place on page click on Text tool and Draw Text Area on Art Area as desired, and type in the text you want. Note: text area can be placed any place on the art area.

 

 

How do I convert multiple pictures or text area to one art area?

 

Using the select tool, tag the first picture or text area, then, while holding down the CTRL key on keyboard, click on the other areas as needed. When all areas are selected go to Object Menu and chose Convert to Image. Chose the Tempo Clip Art needed, and click OK. One art are will now cover the areas previously selected.

 

 

What is Submitted Art?

 

Any art that you use which is not part of the Tempo Art collection.

 

 

How to delete spreads?

 

With Tempo you don’t delete spreads you reset them. You do this by first closing all spreads. Then go to File Menu and choose Reset Pages. Highlight the spread you want to clear and click the Reset button. The spread will now be reset. USE WITH CAUTION, as this clears everything on spread!

             

 

How do I change a font or point size?

This must be done one area at a time. The font and point size can be changed at the same time but only one text area at a time. Double click on the text area and from the drop down menu that appears, make any changes to the font and point size you desire. Click OK to accept the changes.

 

 

What do I do with picture and text areas that are not needed on spreads?

 

Tag the area(s) not needed then press the DELETE button on keyboard. This will remove the picture or text area from the spread. USE WITH CAUTION, this permanently deletes the picture or text area.

 

 

How do I prepare spreads for shipment?

 

With all spreads closed, go to File Menu, then go to Ship Pages. Using the browse button select the drive letter that represents the removeable disk (e.g. floppy disk) onto which the “shipped” pages will be saved. Highlight the spreads you want shipped (if shipping all pages click on the Select All button) and then click the Ship button. The selected pages will now be stored on the removeable disk. Simply eject the disk, and package for shipment to the plant.

 

 

How can I use Tempo on my Macintosh computer?

 

Tempo is a Windows-only application. You can run Tempo on a Macintosh computer only with Windows emulation software such as Virtual PC from Connectix Corporation. (www.connectix.com). Or, contact your rep or Taylor Tech Support for additional information and assistance.
